Looe

Although Looe may be coming to many people’s attention as the fictional town of Shipton Abbott in the BBC’s mystery drama Beyond Paradise, it’s been a popular place for years. It’s easy to see why; as well as being a working fishing port, it’s also got a lovely sandy beach, small local shops and retailers, as well as a few smashing places to eat.

Polperro

Venture a little further along the coast and you’ll find the absolute gem that is Polperro. If you’re looking for a postcard-perfect Cornish village on the coast, then this is it. Beautiful cottages cling to the steep hillsides around a small harbour with spectacular views of land and sea. It’s all 8 miles, which is around a 20 minute drive along the coast.
